REIGATE LTC JUNIOR CALENDAR 2018

Please study it carefully as it shows the dates of the tournaments being held during this year. I will provide more information about these tournaments as we approach them.

FRIDAY EVENING JUNIOR SESSIONS

From the Calendar you will see that our first Friday Evening Junior session starts on 6th April. However, we have decided based on the numbers attending in previous years not to hold these sessions during August. Those evenings have now been set aside for free play. To make up for this, James will give one free session per week in his August Holiday Tennis Camps.

I would also be grateful to hear from our Junior Volunteers that helped last year if they would like to help again this year. Please let me know.

FRIDAY WINTER MATCHPLAYS

Our Friday Evening Winter Matchplays have continued to be well supported with the results shown below:

Remember I will continue to run the bar during these matchplay sessions, so you can still come along and have a drink with family and friends.

SURREY WINTER JUNIOR TEAM TROPHY

This is the new Surrey Team event for U11, U13, U15 and U17 age groups. All our teams have completed their box league matches and two of our teams came top of their league and have progressed to the knock out rounds. Congratulations therefore to our U11 and U15 Girls Teams captained by Debs McWilliams and Anna Gibbon.

Thank you to all the players, Captains and supporters for representing the club especially in some extreme weather conditions.

TEAM TENNIS SURREY 2018

This is the team competition that was formally known as AEGON Team Tennis. We have entered 16 Junior Teams and 2 Open Teams into the competition. First round of matches start in April and continue until the end of June. Team Captains will receive User Guides from the club and the LTA and contact details of their players over the coming weeks. So plenty of time to practise before your first round of matches.

SUMMER JUNIOR TROPHY 2018

This Postal Singles Tournament is now open for entries. Full information and link to the on-line entry system may be found at:

As the Surrey Junior Trophy is aimed at those who are inexperienced at playing external club tournaments, there are rating restrictions on each age group. This is to ensure the players get the best experience possible.

10u: Green 4 – Green 3
12u: 10.2 – 8.2
14u: 10.2 – 8.2
16u: 10.2 – 8.2

QUORN FAMILY CUP RED BALL TOURNAMENT

This event provides families with the opportunity to play tennis in an informal, fun competition way. We have run this event for the last three years and has proved to be very popular. We will be holding it slightly earlier this year on Sun 25th March 12:30 – 3:30 pm.
The winners will earn the opportunity of a day out at a Quorn Family Tennis Cup event held on the qualifying weekend of a LTA grass court major event in June.

The winning pair’s day out will include:

• Free Entry to the grounds for each pair
• 1 to 2 hour Red Ball competition playing against other venue winners
• Explore the grounds and see the pros in action!
• Lunch and drinks provided for each pair
• Further prizes & giveaways

Any child born 1 September 2007 or later (10U) playing with an adult family member born 31 August 1999 or earlier (18+) can play.

I will put up an Entry Form on the Clubhouse Junior Notice Board with a limit of sixteen pairs in due course. It will be a lot of fun and a great prize to win. As always you can simply email me with your entry.

JUNIOR CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS

Entries forms for our Junior Championships will go out during February, so please look out for that. We will hold it on similar lines as in previous years with a joint Finals Day with the Adult events on Saturday 7th July.
