August was another fantastic month for junior tennis at Reigate LTC, as we hosted six LTA Grade 5 Open tournaments across three afternoons, with 64 juniors taking part.

The series began on Friday 7 August with our U18 Boys’ and Girls’ Opens, followed by the U8 and U9 Opens on 14 August, before finishing with the U14 Boys’ and Girls’ Opens on 21 August.

Across the three Fridays, the club was full of competitive tennis, with players joining us from our own junior section as well as clubs across the local area and further afield. Different formats were used across the age groups to give everyone plenty of opportunities to get on court, from match tie-breaks for our youngest competitors through to best of three Fast4 sets for the older juniors.

A huge thank you to Mel, James and Merel for organising, and to our older juniors who helped with umpiring and were so supportive of the younger players.
