The Handicap tournament is for those of us who enjoy playing tennis and want a tournament where we can win! So open to all whether Monday Nighters, Thursday Social players, and Club Team players.

Each player receives a handicap where you either get fewer points to win a game or more points to win a game.

So a beginner might get a +30 handicap meaning they start at +30 in each game - so only have to win 2 points in each game! Whereas a really good player will get a -40 handicap meaning they have to win 7 points to win a game.

•⁠ ⁠Sign-up started on 2nd June (sheets are up at the club or you can join the Handicap WhatsApp group from the main club WhatsApp community)
•⁠ ⁠Sign-up closes on 22nd June (as we need a week or so to sort out the Handicaps!)
•⁠ ⁠Tournament starts on 1st July
•⁠ ⁠Finals Day is on Saturday 27th September

A hint if you are thinking which doubles partner to choose – Top Gun style:
•⁠ ⁠Two Mavericks get a very high handicap...
•⁠ ⁠A Maverick and a Goose is a medium handicap…
•⁠ ⁠Two Geese get a low handicap…

And if the handicap committee gets its work right be warned it might be a 3-hour match!

It is 3 full sets – 1st to 6 games – so you can win 6-5.
