75 matches in 6 weeks, some great tennis and upsets!

This year the Handicap Tournament itself was handicapped by starting later than normal with increased entries over 2019 and 2020 owing to the surge of new memberships at the club and reduced COVID restrictions.

The increased entrants had an impact on the handicapping with a wider range of tennis playing standards to be accommodated. Great to see how many long and close matches there were. (Which shows the handicap was working in most cases – it is more of an art than a science!).

Thank you to all those who were able to play their matches on time, and apologies to those who needed to be chased by Chas on WhatsApp, and those who suffered Owen’s fickle coin flip of fate. In the end we were successfully able to avoid the last week rush of matches as has happened in previous years.

Thanks to everyone for their feedback in the heat of the moment (?) and on reflection, which we will review and feed into next year’s tournament.

Congratulations go to all the winners and to everyone who participated in making it a success.
