Helping to make sure we are ready to reopen as soon as we are allowed

As you know, we are a member-owned club, managed by members who volunteer their time. We currently have a need for some volunteers to help us with club gardening and maintenance. To ensure our club is ready to reopen as soon as we are allowed (whilst continuing to be mindful of our expenses during the uncertainty) we are trying to keep on top of the day-to-day maintenance and gardening ourselves.

To date, Andrew Parker, Graeme Alston, Jon Strange and James Smith have been doing a sterling job of keeping the grounds tidy. The hedges have been cut, the lawns mowed and edges strimmed, but they would be glad of some more volunteers to help out with:

  • mowing (we will reimburse you for your petrol costs)
  • strimming (you will need to bring your own strimmer)
  • weeding the gardens
  • weeding the tennis courts
  • topping up and spreading artificial clay
  • painting the newly replaced fence outside the studio (we have the paint, but you would need to bring brushes)

Is this something you could help with in volunteering some of your time? If so, please comment below, or let Kate Strange know, so that we can add you to the volunteer rota. The more volunteers we can raise, the less work it will be for everyone.

We all look forward to the return of playing tennis and having the club ready and playable from the moment restrictions are lifted.
